Help Local Families in Need through our Summer Giving Appeal!
Our cross-sector view gives us a front-row seat to how the Cost of Living Crisis is still hitting families, especially during the long summer holidays when free school meals stop and childcare costs rise. That’s why we’ve evolved our Summer Giving Appeal into Bags of Hope 2026.
You can make a simple, dignified and empowering difference to those most affected. Business members and the general public can fund Bags of Hope. Each one includes a whole range of everyday essentials such as toiletries, cleaning products, store cupboard items and small treats for children.
We then distribute these Bags of Hope through our charity members who support families and children in need across Reading during the summer holidays.
How can I get involved?
You can donate below, or sign up to receive more information and campaign materials ahead of the full launch in June.
Connect Reading members can take part in the Summer Giving Appeal as part of their membership. If your business isn’t currently a member but would like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you!
Non-member businesses can join the campaign for a small contribution towards campaign costs (£5 per bag / £150 minimum contribution).
This can be made as a donation, meaning it may also be eligible for Gift Aid.
